In the spring, aggressor Russia is likely to intensify strikes on logistics infrastructure. This is because active movements begin then, unlike in winter when large-scale offensive operations are not possible, military expert Roman Svitan told Glavred in an interview.

He said the focus of attacks could shift from energy infrastructure to logistics, including railways, highways, bridges, traction substations, and other transport-related facilities. These targets are expected to remain under threat from Russian forces until autumn.

«Russia will target water supply systems and similar infrastructure to exert pressure on society. Attacks on the energy sector will continue, but they will be less frequent because electricity demand drops during warmer weather, ” Svitan said.

Strategically important bridges could also come under threat, including those in the capital.

«The range of Russian ballistic missiles allows strikes on Kyiv. This puts bridges in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia at risk. Beyond major bridges, there are many railway and road junctions, bridges, and overpasses that can be destroyed with a single ballistic missile or at least disrupted to halt logistical movement, ” the military expert explained.

Svitan added that Russia is also interested in targeting railway traction equipment, including diesel and electric locomotives.

«Disrupting Ukraine’s logistics will be Russia’s main goal in spring and summer 2026. Ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as „Geranium“ drones, will be employed to achieve this, ” Svitan stressed.
