Nationwide power outage: Government identifies worst-affected areas
Most regions of Ukraine are following hourly power outage schedules, though some areas have introduced emergency shutdowns.
Power outages.
As of January 14, the country’s energy system remains under strain due to Russian strikes on energy facilities and cold weather, Acting Energy Minister Artem Nekrasov said.
The situation is most severe in the Kyiv region. In Kyiv and surrounding areas, network restrictions are in place, and previously announced hourly outage schedules are temporarily suspended.
"Planned schedules will resume after the energy system stabilizes. Emergency restoration work in the capital and Kyiv region continues around the clock despite harsh weather," Nekrasov said.
Restrictions are also in effect in Odesa region, where restoration work continues after earlier attacks. In Dnipropetrovsk region, 74,000 consumers were left without power after nighttime attacks, and more than 40,000 remained without electricity as of the morning. Restoration work is ongoing.
Additionally, 12 settlements in Chernihiv and Kyiv regions remain without electricity due to bad weather.
Today, most regions continue hourly outages for all consumer categories, along with power limits for industry.
"In several regions, emergency shutdowns are being applied due to equipment overload amid high demand during the cold spell," the Ministry of Energy said.
