Prisoner swap between Ukraine and Russia: Who was released
193 captive Ukrainians have returned home.
Today, April 24, another prisoner exchange with the Russian Federation took place. 193 service members from the Armed Forces, National Guard, State Border Guard Service, National Police, and the State Special Transport Service returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the news.
"193 Ukrainian warriors are returning home as part of the exchange. Service members from the Armed Forces, National Guard, State Border Guard Service, National Police, and the State Special Transport Service. They defended Ukraine in various sectors. Among them are those against whom Russia had opened criminal cases, as well as the wounded.
It is vital that exchanges are happening and that our people are returning home. I thank everyone working to make these swaps possible. To every unit on the front line ensuring the replenishment of the exchange fund for Ukraine. I am grateful to all the partners helping in this effort.
We remember every single person and continue our daily work to bring our people home from Russian captivity," the president stated.
