Ukrainian intelligence has received information indicating that Russian occupation forces are preparing new large-scale strikes on Ukrainian territory. Against this backdrop, the state is stepping up security measures and reinforcing rear-area preparedness, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said in his evening video address.
The president stresses that the situation regarding the protection of Ukraine’s airspace remains difficult. According to him, Kyiv is holding an open and frank dialogue with Western partners about the need for missiles for air defense systems.
"Supplies are insufficient. We are trying to accelerate deliveries, and it is important that our partners hear us. Much is being done at the level of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine," the president said.
Zelenskyy urged citizens, given the current risks, not to ignore air raid warnings and to take care of their own safety and that of those close to them.
The authorities are actively preparing for potential impacts of enemy attacks on infrastructure. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Ministry of Internal Affairs has already begun deploying an increased number of Points of Invincibility.
Work is also ongoing in the energy sector. The government, energy companies and international partners are working to increase essential equipment and create extra reserves for emergency repairs.
The president has said that insufficient international pressure is emboldening the aggressor, allowing the occupiers to continue their acts of terror.
"The key is that the world does not stay silent. Wars do not end without pressure, and it is precisely because pressure is insufficient that the Russians are acting. We must change this," Zelenskyy said, thanking troops defending the front line.
