Southern Defense Forces spokesman Vladyslav Voloshyn reports the city of Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region is effectively in a “grey zone”, with active fighting taking place directly in urban districts.
In just one day, 50 combat clashes were recorded in the south, the majority of them in the Huliaipole district.
“In Huliaipole itself there were 21 clashes, and several more on the outskirts of the city or in nearby settlements. These include the villages of Varvarivka and Zelene, as well as the settlement of Zaliznychne,” he said.
The spokesman stressed that the enemy was trying to push out the Defense Forces using a “squeezing” tactic, but was unable to secure positions. Ukrainian troops are conducting search-and-strike operations, destroying enemy manpower. Fighting continues for every piece of infrastructure.
Where enemy forces may prepare an attack
Intelligence says Russian troops are preparing to step up operations beyond Huliaipole, concentrating for assaults towards Orikhiv.
A dangerous concentration of enemy forces has been observed near the settlements of Mali Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka and Bilohiria, located between Huliaipole and Orikhiv.
“According to our intelligence, the enemy is trying to gather a certain number of personnel in forward positions in order to launch assault operations towards Orikhiv in the future,” Voloshyn warned.
Alongside ground assaults, the Russian army continues heavy shelling of frontline settlements. Orikhiv, Komyshuvakha and Verkhna Tersa remain under constant fire.
In the past 24 hours alone, more than 25 strikes have been recorded against these communities. The enemy is actively using aircraft, artillery and attack drones.
