Russian attack
Russian troops launched another strike on civilian infrastructure in the southern part of the Odesa region on the morning of June 1. The attack damaged the maternity ward and administrative buildings of a hospital.
Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, confirmed the strike.
Reports state the attack damaged the medical facility’s facade, entrance doors, and over 30 windows.
Six women in labor with their newborns were inside the maternity ward when the strike hit. Another woman was in the middle of giving birth.
«Fortunately, patients and staff escaped injury,» Kiper stated.
Emergency crews are currently working at the scene to deal with the aftermath of the attack and assess the damage.
