Ukrainian cities have «become a testing ground for Russian weapons». New drones and other high-tech systems are being trialled over populated areas. Russia has now begun striking Kharkiv while testing drones equipped with elements of artificial intelligence.

The information was disclosed by Spartak Borysenko, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, in an interview with Suspilne. He said the drones are currently in a testing phase and are capable of automatically striking civilian targets.

«The drones can be programmed to strike any targets, including crowds of people, specific vehicles or buildings. If a drone detects an object matching its assigned target while en route, it independently decides to carry out the strike,"Borysenko said.

At the same time, he stresses that the accuracy of such drones cannot be guaranteed, as the performance of artificial intelligence depends on image quality, frame rate and resolution, as well as other technical factors.
