Erdogan made a statement about a ceasefire in Ukraine after meeting with Putin at BRICS

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Russian dictator Volodymyr Putin during the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia. In particular, they discussed Ukraine.

Erdogan said this to reporters, according to Russian media.

According to Erdogan, he noticed Putin's desire for a ceasefire in Ukraine during their negotiations in Kazan.

"We have confirmed that Putin is also seeking a lasting ceasefire," the Turkish president stated.

Additionally, he mentioned that he discussed the exchange of prisoners between Moscow and Kyiv with Putin. Erdogan noted that "Ankara will continue its diplomatic efforts."
