The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the procedure for providing compensation guarantees to shipowners for damage caused by Russia's armed aggression and military actions on the territory of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

The document is aimed at ensuring the safety of maritime navigation in Ukraine's territorial waters and the stability of export-import logistics through the ports of Greater Odesa. Compensation guarantees will be provided to charterers, operators, and shipowners who transport non-military cargo along designated sea routes.

"For the stable operation of maritime logistics, it is essential that shipowners and foreign partners have confidence in the maximum guarantee of transportation safety and the ability to receive compensation from the state in case of damage due to Russia's armed aggression at sea," the statement reads.

According to the 2025 State Budget Law, compensation will be made from the reserve fund of the budget, with a limit of 2 billion UAH.
