The enemy continues to deploy specialized munitions containing hazardous chemical substances against Ukraine's Defense Forces.

This was reported by the press service of the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian forces are using munitions loaded with chemical agents such as K-51 and RG-VO, which disperse tear-inducing chemicals typically used in riot control - an action classified as an unlawful means of warfare. Additionally, there have been documented cases involving munitions containing unidentified chemical compounds.

In October 2024, radiation, chemical, and biological reconnaissance units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Support Forces Command recorded 323 instances of such munitions being used. Since Russia's full-scale invasion, there have been 4,613 recorded cases of hazardous munitions use on the battlefield, dating back to February 2023.

"Russia is flagrantly violating the rules of warfare, disregarding the norms and obligations of the Chemical Weapons Convention, which prohibits the development, production, stockpiling, and use of chemical weapons, as well as mandates their destruction," the statement reads.
