The Russian occupying army’s offensive on Dnipropetrovsk region and the city of Dnipro is more of an informational campaign by propagandists than a genuine intention of the Russian military command.

This opinion was expressed by Head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Tymochko, in a comment to "Ukrainian Radio".

"To expand the bridgehead and fronts toward Dnipro, they would first need to increase the number of personnel and also understand that if this military operation fails - and it will fail by default, considering Russian tactics and strategy - creating yet another unsuccessful direction for themselves would be a disgrace for the Russian army. Moreover, with many other tasks at hand, launching a new campaign makes no logical sense for the Russians," he said.

According to Ivan Tymochko, the Russian forces are tasked with advancing from the south toward Pokrovsk and from the east toward the Kramatorsk area while simultaneously attempting to link these two offensives. At the same time, they are trying to cut off logistics to Pokrovsk, which is why they are advancing west of the city.

"East of Pokrovsk is the city of Myrnohrad, and the enemy is not too eager to wedge itself between the two cities, as that would put them in a "serious clash." Instead, they aim to cut off Pokrovsk from the west," the expert suggested.
