The Russian occupiers will attempt to concentrate their efforts on capturing Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

This was stated by Head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Tymochko on the air of "24 Kanal."

According to him, the Russians reached a "plateau of capabilities" as early as late December and in January 2025.

"Can they replenish their reserves now, especially under conditions where their losses are increasing while the trend for replenishing the army is, on the contrary, declining? But that does not mean that Putin does not understand this and will not look for ways to solve the problem," Tymochko noted.

He emphasizes that the enemy will now try to focus its efforts on occupying Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Tymochko recalled that in Putin’s latest interview, where he outlined the goals of the so-called "special military operation" and the reasons for aggression against Ukraine, he no longer spoke about changing the Ukrainian government, as he had previously claimed.

"Now Putin says they attacked Ukraine because they "wanted to liberate Donetsk and Luhansk regions." That is, the informational framing of objectives in the Russian space has narrowed to two regions. This indicates that Putin is making such statements because he is being told that even if they manage to occupy Donetsk region, that will be the limit of their capabilities," Tymochko stressed.
