What have the Russians done and what do we know about the casualties? Journalist Viktoria Hnatiuk revealed the details in an exclusive report for TSN.ua.

Zelenskyy responded to the May 8 attack

Once again, the occupiers have struck civilian and critical infrastructure in Ukraine, and they did so on May 8 not by chance. Dozens of missiles were launched on Remembrance and Reconciliation Day. Zelenskyy did not remain silent.

"Nazi Putin's massive missile attack on the Day of Remembrance and victory over Nazism in the Second World War. More than 50 missiles and more than 20 "Shaheds", targeting infrastructure in Lviv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk regions. All the necessary services are already working on-site, eliminating the consequences of terror. The whole world must clearly understand who is who. The whole world cannot afford to give Nazism another chance”, the President wrote.

How many missiles were launched and what are the consequences?

Just during this night and morning, the occupiers launched 76 aerial targets across Ukraine, 59 of which were intercepted by air defense forces. This includes 33 cruise missiles X-101/X-555, 4 cruise missiles "Kalibr", 2 guided aviation missiles X-59 and X-69 and 20 combat drones. Unfortunately, there were hits and victims. According to the Ministry of Energy, the enemy attacked electricity generation and transmission facilities in six regions. At present, it is known about the hits in Poltava, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Several missiles were also aimed at Kyiv, but our defenders of the sky managed to eliminate them all. However, there was a hit in Kyiv region. Civilian houses were damaged in Brovary. Rescuers are working on the spot. A man and a woman were urgently taken to the hospital. "There were no hits to residential or critical infrastructure objects. At the same time, falling debris was recorded in 4 districts of the region. Unfortunately, as a result, people were injured. Two victims - a woman and a man with multiple injuries to the limbs and shrapnel wounds - were taken to the hospital. The victims are provided with all necessary emergency aid.

Damage to power lines was recorded. One of the villages is partially without electricity. Energy workers are already working promptly to restore power.

According to operational information, one private residential house and an adjacent outbuilding were destroyed, as a result of falling debris, and 14 private houses and one car were damaged. All emergency response teams are working on-site. We continue to document and eliminate the consequences of the attack," the Kyiv Regional Military Administration stated in the message.

The occupiers destroyed the same civilian house twice

Later, it became known that the victims were a mother and son, both in critical condition. TSN journalist Victoria Kovtsun visited the site of the strike and described only two walls remaining from the family's house. It had just been rebuilt under a state program, because during the early stages of the full-scale war, the Russians had already destroyed this residence. Now it's gone again. Additionally, a kindergarten is located just 200 meters away from the impact site.

Strikes on regions

Meanwhile, in Poltava region, the energy infrastructure was hit, as reported by Head of the Regional Military Administration, Filip Pronin, without providing details, but noting that there were no casualties.
