Ukraine's EU accession: Kuleba outlined three key steps to full membership

The accession of Ukraine to the EU will be a globally significant event for Europe, Kuleba believes.

After the conclusion of the accession negotiations with the EU, Ukraine will be just three steps away from full membership in the European Union.

This was announced by Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba.

According to the Foreign Minister, these three steps are:

1. The European Commission's conclusion on the successful completion of negotiations and Ukraine's achievement of compliance with accession criteria;

2. The decision to sign the Agreement on Ukraine's accession to the EU;

3. Ratification of the agreement by the parliaments of EU member states and Ukraine's acquisition of full EU membership.

The top diplomat believes that Ukraine's accession to the EU will be an event of global significance for Europe.

"Tomorrow will be the inaugural part, followed by six clusters of negotiations that will be opened and closed. Experts in the relevant fields will work on aligning Ukraine's legislation with EU standards,"  Kuleba added.
