Who opposes Poland closing the airspace over western Ukraine: an expert explains how votes are divided

Marek Sierant says that pressure must be applied on Poland because without it, Ukraine will not be safe, and neither will NATO and the European Union.

Poland closing the sky over western Ukraine

Closing the airspace over western Ukraine by Poland would allow Ukraine to move its air defense systems to the center of the country. The Polish government, along with the Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, is quite decisive on this issue. However, the military opinions are split 50/50.

Polish expert and journalist Marek Sierant said this on the "Espreso" TV channel.

"The Polish government is quite decisive on this issue, as is the Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski. The military opinions are divided, about 50/50. As for NATO partners, not everyone is thrilled about this. But pressure needs to be applied because without it, Ukraine will not be safe, and neither will NATO and the European Union," Sierant said.

According to the expert, if Poland closes the airspace over western Ukraine, it will allow air defense systems to be moved from Lviv or Lutsk to the center of the country.

"This would also allow for the protection of Kharkiv. If this is not done, we are contributing to what is happening in Kharkiv and other cities in Ukraine," Sierant added.
