Military analyst Serhiy Zhurets considers the opinion of Commander of the National Guard, Oleksandr Pivnenko, to be mistaken in believing that in the next month or month and a half, the Russian army will lose the ability to conduct active assaults and will go on the defensive.

The expert expressed this view on Radio NV.

According to him, the logic of the Russian army's actions does not change.

"Unfortunately, I do not share the optimistic approach of the Commander of the National Guard that Russia will go on the defensive in a month and a half. For a long time, probably since October of last year, from the beginning of the offensive on Avdiivka, the Russians' logic has been focused on gradual dislodging our Armed Forces along the entire width of the front line, where the active zone now spans 900 kilometers," Zhurets said.

He asserts that the Russians have been using the same approach for a long time: they first use artillery and guided aerial bombs (GABs), and then infantry in various formats, to capture defensive positions.
