In the early morning of October 12th, Russian artillery attack caused another blackout at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Enerhoatom reports.
Around 08:59 a.m., the Russian army carried out another artillery attack and damaged Dniprovska substation in Dnipro Region. The attack resulted in emergency shutdown of 750 kV ZNPP – Dniprovska power transmission line.
"Therefore, Zaporizhzhia NPP is now fully cut off from power supply. Backup diesel generators were activated automatically. Enerhoatom has dispatched another batch of diesel fuel to the plant, however as of 10:00 a.m. the Russian side has denied access to the tank truck convoy”, the report reads.
Enerhoatom emphasizes that the invaders continue to neglect nuclear and radiational safety precautions at Zaporizhzhia NPP, which is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, putting the world one step away from nuclear disaster.
"Russian artillery attacks against energy infrastructure crucial for operation of nuclear power plants, as well as direct attacks against ZNPP are the acts of nuclear terrorism causing the similar consequences and creating a hazard of a nuclear incident”, Enerhoatom adds.
