Artillery Strikes in Kherson Were Expected and Foreseeable: Maliar about Enemy Attack Patterns

Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar explained the logic the Russian invaders followed when attacking liberated city of Kherson and southern parts of the country during the national TV marathon.

"The logic is very simply: if the enemy withdraws its troops in one area, sooner or later it will re-deploy the withdrawn units somewhere else. This is why the artillery attacks in Kherson were expected and foreseeable. Our enemy is very emotional and also wages the war of propaganda. They deliberately target the most valuable locations for us. This is the pattern we have repeatedly noticed”, Maliar said.

According to her, the intensity of combat engagements has reduced in the southern part of Ukraine, but still remains high in the East of the country.

"The liberation of Kherson was a painful blow that decreased motivation of Russian troops, so their military leadership is now looking for some points to get at least something positive for Russian military. That’s why they’ve chosen the Donetsk direction”, Maliar explained.

Intensive hostilities now continue in Bakhmut area.
