The information from the Russians regarding an alleged strike on the Kursk NPP with HIMARS systems is false.
This was stated by Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the Ukrainian National Security Council, on social media.
Kovalenko stressed that the Russians had "peddled" false information about a strike on the Kursk NPP using HIMARS. "Of course, no one has targeted the nuclear power plant. There is no reason for that. The Russians showed some fire in Kurchatov, and there is an explosion on the ground in the video. What does that have to do with shelling the NPP? It's far away," the head of the CCD explained.
He said that this explosion had nothing to do with an attack on the Kursk NPP.
It should be noted that Russian Telegram channels are spreading claims that allegedly four missiles and a drone attempted to attack the Kursk NPP on October 3. They assert that a target was shot down, falling 5 kilometers from the station.
