Russia plans to resolve the "Ukrainian question" by 2026, otherwise Moscow will never be able to catch up with the level of the U.S. and China.

This was stated by Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence (GUR), during the roundtable "New Contours of European Security," as reported by the GUR’s Telegram channel.

The aggressor country has a geopolitical forecast for 2026–2035, with an assessment of its consequences extending to 2045. The documents specify that the "Ukrainian question" must be resolved by 2026. According to Skibitskyi, the Kremlin has forecasted 15 scenarios of potential military conflicts by 2045, six of which are related to Northern Europe.

"Because if the war continues for another 5–10 years, Russia will never be able to catch up and stand on equal footing with the U.S. and China," the GUR representative added.
