The spread in Western media of reports that the Kremlin could allegedly fight for another two years is an element of a Russian information and psychological operation. Its aim is to pressure Ukrainian leadership into concessions using the narrative of Russia’s «endless resources.»
Military analyst and former spokesman of the Ukrainian General Staff, Vladyslav Selezniov, expressed this view during a broadcast on Kyiv 24.
«Recently, statements have appeared in leading European media about Putin’s readiness to fight for almost two more years. This looks like a planned information and psychological operation. Russia is using words to convince Ukrainian leadership to make concessions. In reality, the enemy lacks sufficient resources for active combat. The longer the war goes on, the more problems the Russian economy faces, and the weaker the occupiers’ offensive potential becomes, ” Selezniov said.
He noted that the analysis of combat dynamics shows a gradual depletion of Russian capabilities.
«Looking at the map and its dynamics, it is clear that the enemy is gradually losing offensive potential. There are no major changes on the battlefield that could significantly shift the situation in favor of Russia. The Russian economy is entering stagnation, and physical resources to maintain high-intensity warfare will last at most six months, ” he stressed.
The expert also stressed that despite the enemy’s depleted resources, vigilance is necessary, as fighting continues and Russia continues to look for ways to apply pressure on both the battlefield and in the information space.
