Children in Russia-Controlled Territory Are Taught to Hate Ukraine – Human Rights Commissioner

In the temporarily seized parts of Ukraine, the invaders open regional offices of so-called “Youth Army”, where they attempt to program the Ukrainian children to hate their homeland and prepare them for joining the volunteer battalions, as Dmytro Lubinets, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Ukraine, reports.
According to him, the invaders attempt to indoctrinate the children with the idea to seek revenge for the terrors of war claiming that it was not Russia, but Ukraine that started the hostilities.
Lubinets reports that the invaders militarize the education in Russia-controlled territories, where the children are taught to clean firearms, shoot, march, wear military uniform and hate their homeland.
According to him, the invaders are doing everything in order to destroy the Ukrainian identity and worldview, while the children who only start to develop the critical thinking skills are the most vulnerable target.
"Russian school educational programs also focus on over distortion of history and emphasize the role of this war as a way to save these children from Ukraine", the Human Rights Commissioner stressed.
According to him, the invaders obviously intend to deprive children of their Ukrainian identity, which is another manifestation of genocide committed by Russia against Ukrainian nation.
