De-occupation Would Take Some Time: Defence Intelligence Reports the Number of Russian Troops Defending Kherson

Vadym Skibitskyi, the representative of the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence, warns that Ukrainian military may needs some time in order to retake control of temporarily seized city of Kherson.

In his interview for La Repubblica, he explained why the invasion forces decided to evacuate civilians.

"Firstly, because it is easier to fight that way. Secondly, to cut off the information we get from the guerrillas. Third, because they adhere to the principle of the Soviet Union: deportation of civilian population. Then they will bring some Buryats in order to make this region not just pro-Russian, but entirely Russian. The same thing was done in Crimea with the Tatars", the Spokesman of the Defence Intelligence said.

According to Skibitskyi, the city Kherson is likely defended by 30 to 50 thousand Russian troops.
