Former Commander of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, commented on whether Ukraine indeed had concealed data on the deployment of its troops from Western partners before the invasion.
Naiev discussed this in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.
At the time, Western media cited intelligence reports suggesting that Ukrainian forces were unprepared and that failure was imminent. Later, reports emerged that then-Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi did not provide Western partners with data on troop deployment because those were classified documents.
General Serhii Naiev clarifies how accurate these claims were.
"Ukrainian law prohibits sharing military plans with foreigners at any level. The same applies to them - they would never show us their plans. Discussions took place, and information that was not classified was, of course, shared," he explained.
