Ukraine officially recognizes as abducted by Russia 4,390 children who are orphans, half-orphans or deprived of parental care and the deportation of 16,207 children from the temporarily occupied territories.
This was announced by the Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, on the national telethon.
She noted that 4,390 orphans are currently either in the temporarily occupied territories or in Russia.
Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized that the Russians actually admit their war crimes when they publicly announce the "adoption" of children in the Russian Federation that Ukraine demands to be returned.
"Instead of returning the child, they adopt the child and flaunt it, showing the whole world facts that do not need actual proof," said the minister.
