The Russian occupying army is pressing on Myrnohrad in Donetsk region. The invaders are trying to sever the land link to Pokrovsk. The Russians intend to encircle the city, moving toward the villages of Rivne and Svitle.
The press service of Ukraine’s 7th Air Assault Corps reported this.
Air assault units are holding back the Russian army movements near Krasnyi Lyman.
“Russian troops are trying to storm the northern part of Myrnohrad with small infantry groups. The enemy is moving around the clock and using drones to coordinate its actions,” the 7th Corps said.
Ukrainian defenders are bolstering their troop presence in the city to safeguard the southern outskirts. In this zone, the enemy is gathering forces for further attempts to advance.
Military sources report that in the northeast of Myrnohrad, the 38th Separate Marine Brigade captured four Russian soldiers attempting to storm the city. Three of them were former prisoners released under military contracts. The occupiers said they had spent four days in a basement in a nearby settlement before the assault, without any food or water.
