Russian troops continue to intensify their actions in the Kharkiv direction.

This was stated by Pavlo Shamshin, spokesman for the Kharkiv Operational-Tactical Grouping, during a telethon.

The occupiers are attempting to build pontoon crossings over the Oskil River to create conditions for a potential assault or encirclement of Kupiansk.

The situation is particularly tense near the settlement of Dvorichna. It is here that Russian units are actively transferring infantry to the western bank of the Oskil to expand their bridgehead. According to Shamshin, the enemy’s plan is to secure an approach to Kupiansk from the north and the right bank of the river, which could pose a serious threat to the city.

However, Ukrainian Defense Forces are keeping the situation under control. According to the spokesman, the enemy has not succeeded in establishing crossings for armored vehicles. Ukrainian Armed Forces’ aerial reconnaissance constantly monitors the situation on the Oskil River.

As soon as equipment that could be used to build pontoon bridges is detected, Ukrainian forces immediately employ all available firepower to destroy it.

At present, the enemy does not have a single operational pontoon crossing that would allow the transfer of equipment to the western bank of the river. The aggressor’s attempts to force the Oskil continue, but thanks to the coordinated actions of Ukrainian defenders, the enemy has been unable to achieve its plans.
