Russia aims to maintain a high intensity of warfare throughout 2026, indicating the Kremlin’s long-term plans to continue its aggression against Ukraine.
Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko said this on the air of the national TV marathon United News.
He emphasized that the current goal of the Russians is to sustain the intensity of combat operations.
«Resources were stockpiled until the end of 2025, and now resources are being accumulated for the entire year of 2026 for warfare of the same intensity as now, ” Kovalenko noted.
According to him, Ukraine, in turn, will try to do everything to counter Russia’s plans for even longer.
Kovalenko also explained what Russia’s ability to wage a prolonged war depends on:
Support from North Korea: Russia continues to receive weapons from North Korea.
Technology from China: The aggressor state is obtaining certain technological components from China.
Lack of U.S. sanctions: So far, there are no strict U.S. sanctions that could significantly impact Russia’s ability to continue the war.
