In recent days, there has been a lot of information circulating online about possible negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. These "peace plans," which do not actually exist, are seeping into the subconscious of millions of Ukrainians. However, in reality, there are no peace plans from Russia.
This was stated by Doctor of Historical Sciences and Executive Director of the Ukrainian Institute for the Future, Vadym Denysenko, on his social media page.
According to him, there are no concrete peace plans from Russia. What we are seeing is an attempt to create a certain informational backdrop in various parts of the world. Unfortunately, this is succeeding in Ukraine.
"Both Washington (to a lesser extent) and Beijing view our war as a proxy war between the West and the Global South. This is our main problem. Peace negotiations currently depend on four perspectives: Washington, Beijing, Kyiv and Moscow. Unfortunately, the EU does not yet have a standpoint, but it could become an important one," Denysenko emphasized.
At the same time, the Kremlin believes it can turn the situation in its favor within the next six months and repeat what happened at the end of last year and the beginning of this year when Ukraine did not receive weapons for seven months.
"The Kremlin understands that its main task now is to force the West to propose a peace plan that 100% will not satisfy Kyiv, making Ukraine appear as an unreliable negotiating partner. Washington is preoccupied with its own issues, and the Ukrainian issue has taken a backseat. The only thing we can currently predict with certainty is that if Trump wins, there will be an attempt to propose a relatively simple solution that involves partially lifting sanctions on Russia in exchange for "cooling" relations between Russia and China. Everything we have seen from Russia's actions in North Korea and its activities in Africa shows us that Putin is preparing for such a proposal. This is a threatening scenario for us, and the main thing we can oppose to this is extremely complex work with the entire Republican Party and their sponsors. This idea must become toxic," Vadym Denysenko noted.
