"I'll Be More Realistic": Yermak Assessed the Possibility of Ending the War by Spring
Ukrainian warriors have achieved significant success on the battlefield, Yermak noted.
Andrii Yermak, the Head of the President's Office, believes that it is unlikely that Ukraine will be able to end the war unleashed by Russia by the end of spring 2023, as he said during his speech at the Halifax International Security Forum.
Yermak added that he was not ready to predict the exact day and time when we will win, but it would definitely happen eventually.
"It sounds as if this phrase of the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine is a dream. Of course, millions of Ukrainians dream that this war will end as soon as possible. However, I will be more realistic", Yermak said commenting on the statement of Volodymyr Havrylov, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine that the entire war with Russia will be over by the spring.
Yermak noted that this year, Ukraine has achieved success on the battlefield, liberating Kherson and advancing on the Kharkiv front.
"Every day, every minute, we are doing everything possible so that our common victory with our partners comes as soon as possible," he added.
In addition, the Head of the President's Office said that Ukraine, together with its allies, had begun drafting a joint declaration on the Ukrainian air shield.
"Since Russian strikes against Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure will obviously continue, Ukraine badly needs an effective missile defense. The goal is to build a comprehensive multi-level system of Ukrainian air and missile defense," Yermak added.
