"I See No Other Way": Danilov Talks About the Strategy of Crimea Liberation

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksii Danilov believes that given the current realities in the issue of de-occupation of Crimea, the only way to liberate the peninsula temporarily seized by Russia is military.

Danilov said this in an interview with ZAXID.NET.

According to him, Ukraine can no longer be guided by the strategy that was approved on March 24th, 2021, as it needs to be amended and is not relevant.

He explained that there were several points, including the military one. But the priority was given to the political and diplomatic way of liberating the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"We need to adopt the relevant documents, and the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine should vote for them. At this time, I do not see any other way than military liberation of Crimea," Danilov said.

At the same time, he added that the final decision would be made by the members of the National Security and Defense Council. In addition, the changes will need to be established by presidential decree.

"We need to approve the relevant documents, and the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine must vote for them. At the moment, I see no other way but military to liberate Crimea... We are working on all the documents on the processes taking place in the security and defense sector of Ukraine. This is one of them," the NSDC Secretary said.

In addition, Danilov emphasized that Ukraine needs to focus on defeating the terrorist country of Russia, and added that Ukrainians know exactly what our victory should be like.

"Nowadays, we sometimes hear calls to "leave the Autonomous Republic of Crimea alone", "make concessions regarding Donetsk and Luhansk regions", and "where we stop, we will stop". This is a very dangerous thing for Ukraine," Danilov said.
