If Ukraine does not effectively counter enemy FPV drones, particularly through the widespread deployment of electronic warfare (EW) systems, the war may go "underground."
This was stated by Yaroslav Filimonov, co-founder of the anti-drone systems manufacturer Kvertus, in an interview with Hromadske.
Filimonov says that today, EW systems are becoming as essential on the battlefield as helmets and body armor.
"If we do not cover the front with EW, the war will go underground. The main causes of personnel losses are artillery and FPV drones," the expert explained.
According to him, domestic electronic warfare in Ukraine is currently developing rapidly, but the needs on the front lines are still enormous. At the same time, technological solutions already exist, and the main challenge is to scale up production.
"The needs are enormous. Every vehicle, armored car and medevac must be equipped with countermeasures against FPV drones. At least every unit should have an anti-drone rifle, and every unit should have a special EW backpack," Filimonov said.
