President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following negotiations between Kyiv and Washington delegations in Saudi Arabia, confirmed Ukraine's readiness for a 30-day ceasefire across the entire front line.
He made this statement in his evening address on March 11.
"Just now, our delegation reported on the meeting with the American team in Saudi Arabia. Our Ukrainian proposal for this meeting with the Americans included three things: silence in the sky – no missiles, bombs, long-range drones, silence at sea, and real measures to establish trust in the entire situation, in which diplomacy is ongoing, primarily – the release of prisoners," Zelenskyy said.
According to him, the American side understands Ukraine's arguments and accepts the proposals...
"I want to thank President Trump for the constructive nature of our teams' conversations. And today, during the conversation, the American side proposed taking the first step immediately and trying to establish a full ceasefire for 30 days not only regarding missiles, drones, and bombs, not only in the Black Sea, but also along the entire front line," Zelenskyy said.
He added that Ukraine was ready to accept this proposal.
"We consider it positive, and we are ready to take such a step. The United States needs to persuade Russia to do this. That is, we agree, and if the Russians agree – at that moment, silence will begin. An important element of today’s conversation is America's readiness to resume defensive aid to Ukraine, as well as intelligence support. Ukraine is ready for peace. Russia must show whether they are ready to stop the war or continue it. It is time for full truth. I thank everyone who helps Ukraine," the President added.
