"It Remains To Be "finished": Reznikov Reports News about "Aircraft Coalition" for Ukraine

The issue of providing Ukraine with modern Western-made aircraft has already been resolved, as Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said during his briefing on February 20th.

"First, there was the 'tank initiative' that was born in certain minds and was worked on, then came the 'tank coalition'. Believe me, it is the same with aircrafts. This initiative already exists. All that remains is to "finish off" this aircraft coalition," he said.

Reznikov noted that the issue of the aircraft platform is still a bit political, but he "knows and feels that it has already been resolved."

"It's just a matter of choosing which platform will be the main, basic one. This is a fundamental task," the Defense Minister said.

Reznikov explained that the aviation platform could be used to monitor the situation from radar and strike enemy positions with weapons. He also emphasized the need to stop the "dominance of Russian air forces in the sky," to prevent the Russians from launching more military operations and to prepare for counteroffensive by Ukraine.

"That is, this is a defense system, it is part of our air defense, and we explain this to our partners," Reznikov emphasized.

The Minister explained that now there is a question of pragmatic assessment - what spare parts are available, what technical engineers will train our technical engineers more easily, what weapons we will use, and so on.

"In fact, it is a matter of choosing the best solution," he assured.
