The AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) winged bombs that the United States will provide to Ukraine will not be able to replace long-range missiles and do not mean that restrictions on the use of Western weapons have been lifted.

This opinion was expressed by Oleksandr Musienko, Head of the Center for Military and Legal Studies, during a broadcast on "KYIV24."

"One could say that this enhances the capabilities of the Ukrainian F-16s, as there is a very wide range of munitions that can be used with them, including these. As for whether this is a final decision regarding range - I don’t think so," Musienko stated.

He added that Ukraine has raised the issue of supplying missiles for F-16s with a range of up to 370 km, and there has been no negative response to it.

"Therefore, I do not rule out that in the future, considering that the countries that supplied us with F-16s have ordered the production of these missiles, we may receive them as well. However, this is certainly not an attempt to replace decisions regarding strikes deep into Russian territory. It should be viewed as an enhancement of our aviation's weaponry," Musienko noted.
