On Thursday, September 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Washington with a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. Senate, led by Democrat Chuck Schumer and Republican Mitch McConnell. Senators from both parties were informed about the key points of the Victory Plan.
This is stated in a message in the official Telegram channel of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“This should be our joint achievement – victory for the sake of freedom, without any compromises at the cost of freedom,” the Ukrainian President stressed.
The President's press service added that during the meeting with U.S. senators, the main focus was on the situation at the front, the urgent needs of Ukrainian soldiers, joint weapons production, and key areas of ongoing American support.
“Ukraine's priority is additional air defense systems and missiles for them,” the message stated.
The need to strengthen sanctions against the aggressor state was also discussed, along with the use of revenues from frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's needs.
“Here, in the capital of the U.S., we have many friends who have stood shoulder to shoulder with Ukrainians in the fight for freedom and independence since the very first days of the full-scale invasion. Thank you to every member of the Senate for such support,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded.
