The first drone strikes by Russian kamikaze drones in Kherson were reported early in the morning. Over the past 24 hours, 13 civilians have been injured, and one person has been killed in Kherson region. Most of the victims were in Kherson district, particularly in Antonivka.
A total of 40 settlements were targeted during the shelling. The Russians focused on critical and social infrastructure. Two high-rise buildings and 15 private houses were damaged. A reporting team from TSN, led by journalist Natalia Nahorna, is working in Kherson.
She clarified that seven people had been injured by artillery, while six others were hurt by drone strikes or FPV drones. The day before, the enemy shelled the university in Kherson. Nine strikes hit the building and nearby areas.

Currently, students are not attending classes at the university. It was relocated to Ivano-Frankivsk. However, before the relocation, the university had a large student body, and it was a very symbolic place for the residents of Kherson.
“Every day, bombs are dropped on people, the university. It was the main educational institution in the city. We had about three thousand students. We worked every day. We had many researchers and teaching staff. But now all the walls are empty, and there is no student laughter in the corridors,” says Hanna Yokich, head of the Kherson branch of Kherson State University.

The university cannot be repaired at the moment. The damage is severe, with a leaking roof from previous shelling. On December 20, large lecture halls were hit.
“Every fifth person in Kherson studied at this university... We were lucky that no one was injured because the institution had been relocated,” Spokesman for the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Tolokonnikov says.

On the morning of January 6, Kherson experienced several explosions, despite poor weather conditions. It was expected that there would be fewer drones, but monitoring groups constantly report that drones are moving toward the city. The areas near the Dnipro River are being hit the hardest, since the enemy is closest there.
