Zelenskyy says he is willing to attend Trump’s inauguration
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his readiness to attend the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, which will take place on January 20, if he receives an official invitation.

He made this statement during an interview with American podcaster Lex Fridman.
“I would like to come to the inauguration, but of course, I will see what is happening on our end… But I cannot come, especially during wartime, unless President Trump directly invites me. It would simply be inappropriate,” the Ukrainian President said.
Zelenskyy also notes that foreign leaders are generally not invited to U.S. presidential inauguration ceremonies.
“There are leaders who can come on their own — if they want to, they will come… For me, it’s very difficult. I cannot go as a guest without an invitation. Putin — we didn’t invite him, but he came to us. I can’t do that,” Zelenskyy added.
