Kuleba made a statement about the downing of Russian missiles over Ukraine by partners
Kuleba calls on partners to shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine or to provide the necessary weapons.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that there is no legal, security or moral argument against the downing of Russian missiles over Ukraine by partners from their territory.
He said this during a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, in Kyiv, Ukrinform writes.
He stated that the Ukrainian side asks its partners to consider the possibility of shooting down Russian targets over Ukraine or providing us with the necessary missile defense systems and combat aircraft with corresponding technical capabilities.
"There is no legal, security or moral argument that would hinder our partners from shooting down Russian missiles over Ukraine from their territory. Those who say that such actions would be escalation are manipulating," Kuleba said.
According to him, Ukraine has heard many times the argument about the need to avoid escalation. However, over the past two years, the only party engaging in escalation is Russia.
"So, first: we really ask our partners to consider options where Russian missiles - not Russian planes with Russian pilots on board, but pieces of iron carrying death from Russia to Ukraine - could be intercepted from the territory of our partner countries. There is an alternative solution: if you don't want to do this, then simply provide us with all the necessary means for this, we will deploy them on the territory of Ukraine and intercept these missiles ourselves. These are missile defense systems and combat aircraft with corresponding technical capabilities. And taking a position where we won't hand over our missile defense systems and won't support shooting down Russian missiles over Ukraine from our territory - that is a position of appeasing the aggressor," the head of Ukrainian diplomacy emphasized.
