Mariupol-Style Tactics: Arestovych Explained, Why Occupiers Bomb Chernihiv

The Russian invaders started to use the Mariupol-style tactics in Chernihiv, Oleksiy Arestovych, the Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, believes.

According to him, the occupiers deliberately target the residential districts of Chernihiv, which has been cut off from the gas and water supplies for more than a week. This is so-called ‘Russian revenge’ for the heroic defense of the city, he explains. 
“The situation in Chernihiv remains difficult, since the enemy started to use the Mariupol-style tactics. Of course, the scales are not comparable, but still”, Arestovych says.

However, the Adviser emphasized that the central military command is still able to deliver military support to Chernihiv. The city holds strong as well as Sumy, Kyiv, Kharkiv and the rest of Ukraine.

“The actual situation in Chernihiv is far different than suggested by some loud statements about the city allegedly being surrounded, besieged, et cetera. We don’t have any siege, we have difficult situation. However, the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with the governmental authorities are doing their best in order to improve the current status”, Arestovych adds.
