Massive Russian attack: an expert identifies the threats of the coming days
Following the massive attack on August 26, when Putin's army launched a record number of missiles and drones at Ukraine, the occupiers may continue reconnaissance strikes over the next few days.

Military-political analyst of the "Information Resistance" group, Oleksandr Kovalenko, who predicted the massive shelling on the eve of Independence Day, shared this in a comment to TSN.ua.
"After every massive shelling, it is logical that reconnaissance follows. Within a few days, there should be reconnaissance shelling. So, after a massive strike, one shouldn't relax, because reconnaissance will follow," Kovalenko explains.
He adds: "The enemy is determining which targets they managed to hit or destroy and which they missed. They will try to reach those they couldn't before. In the coming days, there may be limited strikes, but they won't be able to replicate the scale of the August 26 attack for at least a month or a month and a half."
According to Kovalenko, the number of missiles that Putin's army launched at Ukraine on August 26 almost completely matches the number produced by Russia since July 8.
"They are now entirely dependent on production. Whatever they produce, they use, and some are kept in arsenals," the expert clarifies.
The goal of the attack on Kyiv
Despite the fact that Ukrainian air defense intercepts almost all missiles and drones aimed at Kyiv, the occupiers persist in their attempts to strike the capital.
Kovalenko explains this strategy: "They aimed for a breakthrough. There was a large number of aerial targets simultaneously in our airspace. So, they focused on breaking through and hitting targets. Primarily, they targeted the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant, attempting to hit it with more means, but they failed. Nevertheless, it remains a goal for them. Kyiv, as the capital, attracts more attention, which is why they launched a larger quantity of munitions at it."
