Ukraine may initiate negotiations about joining the EU in December, despite certain manipulations by some European officials. The Minister of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Olha Stefanishyna, said this on the air of the telethon.
"Ukraine has created all the necessary conditions for this (the start of negotiations). We have implemented all seven recommendations. Furthermore, we must understand that decisions regarding almost 10 other enlargement countries will be under consideration, and Ukraine is unquestionably a leader, even despite the full-scale ongoing war," Stefanishyna stated. The minister emphasized that Ukraine is determined to receive a positive decision from the European Commission regarding Ukraine. She is confident that in December, it will be possible to achieve such a political decision and commence the awaited negotiations.
"At the same time, today we can already see that some countries or even certain European officials resort to manipulations, trying to push through their personal preferences into the documents being prepared by the European Commission. Likewise, we see that there are certain unfriendly countries attempting to diminish the assessment of Ukraine's progress and, let's say, devalue some of our efforts," Stefanishyna said.
According to her, Ukraine is working on these issues individually. Meanwhile, Stefanishyna calls on the country's allies not to provide room for manipulations, especially when it comes to Ukraine's European integration.
