New Massive Russian Missile Strike Agaisnt Ukraine: Situation in the Regions
Russia continues to attack Ukrainian critical civilian infrastructure with long-range missiles and kamikaze drones.

In the early hours of December 29th, Russia has once again attacked Ukraine with missiles. This morning, the air raid alarm was triggered in all regions of Ukraine. According to the Air Force Command, Russia has attacked Ukraine from various directions using airborne and shipborne missiles launched from strategic bombers and warships. Furthermore, Ukrainian military also noted increased activity of Russian tactical air forces. As a preventive measure, power companies have disabled power supply in order to avoid additional damage, if the energy infrastructure facilities are hit.
Oleksii Arestovych, the Adviser to the Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, confirmed several waves of missile strikes and warned that Russians might launched up to 100 missiles.
Kyiv
Vitalii Klychko, the Mayor of Kyiv, confirmed several explosions in the capital city. The missile fragments damaged a building in Darnytskyi District of Kyiv. Due to potential power outages, Kyiv residents are advised to charge their phones and other devices, as well as to make a stock of water.
"Air defence units are engaging enemy targets! Fragments of a shot-down missile damaged a private building in Darnytskyi District and a vehicle parked nearby”, Kyiv City Military Administration reported.
Kharkiv Region
The Russian invasion forces have also attacked Kharkiv and Kharkiv Region.
"Attention, residents of Kharkiv and Kharkiv Region! Please, stay in the shelters. Invaders carry out more strikes!”, Oleh Syniehubov, the Head of Regional Military Administration, posted.
The Kharkiv Subway was shutdown because of attack.
The Mayor of Kharkiv also confirmed the missile strike in the city.
"I confirm the series of explosions in the city. Based on preliminary data, the missiles landed in Slobidskyi District. The information about exact targets and human casualties will be provided later”, Mayor Ihor Trekhov posted.
Lviv
Russian strikes are also reported in Lviv. Lviv Mayor Sadovyi confirmed explosions in the city.
"Please, stay in the shelters", he posted.
Sumy Region
Ukrainian air defence units shot down the enemy missile in Sumy Region.
Poltava Region
Explosions were heard in Poltava Region during the air raid alarm. The air defence units engaged the enemy targets in the region. "Sounds of explosions are heard in Poltava Region. Air defence units engage enemy targets. Trust in the AFU”, the Head of Regional Military Administration posted.
Ukraine air defence units also shot down five Russian missiles above the Black Sea in Mykolaiv Region, as Vitalii Kim, the Head of Regional Military Administration, reported.
"Three missiles are shot down over the sea in our region”, he posted and later added: “Two more down. Beautiful job”.
Odesa Region
A series of explosions was heard in Odesa Region during the massive Russian missile strike. A pile of smoke was seen raising in Odesa District.
"Fragments of cruise missiles hit a residential house. More detailed information about consequences will be provided later”, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, the Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, reported.
