The Russians attacked Odesa with drones and a missile from the sea the night before. Air defense forces intercepted the missile immediately. Then, anti-drone operations continued. Fragments of the "Shaheds" damaged residential buildings, infrastructure, and vehicles.

This was reported in a TSN article by correspondent Olena Cherniaieva.

A crater in a playground in Odesa

A large crater appeared in a playground within a courtyard surrounded by four high-rise buildings. Windows from the first to the ninth floor were shattered. The blast wave not only broke the glass but also blew out the window frames. The explosions occurred just before dawn.

"I saw the air raid alert on my phone, and then - boom, a muffled sound, then another huge blast, and everything started burning. Cars began exploding... My balcony was destroyed. I was sitting on the couch nearby, then I ran into the hallway," a woman recounted.

Ten cars parked near the buildings were damaged, four of them completely burned out.

"There was an explosion, I ran outside. I grabbed a fire extinguisher and tried to put out the flames," said Odesa resident Hennadii Kulikov.

City workers are helping residents clean up the shattered window frames. Inside the apartments, glass shards cover the floors. Four people suffered cuts, while a 90-year-old man was hospitalized. Rescuers freed two women trapped in their apartments after their doors jammed.

The aftermath of the shelling of Odesa

Preliminary estimates indicate that in this area alone, 900 windows in ten buildings and a school were damaged. Authorities have promised to compensate for replacements. Additionally, five summer houses, a grain storage facility, and a high-rise building near the coast sustained damage.

"Fortunately, the impact was weaker there - about 15 apartments and 50 windows were affected. Emergency response centers have been set up in both locations," said Odesa’s First Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Filatov.

Despite the damage, students at the affected school returned to their classrooms in the rooms that remained intact.
