President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine expects the countries participating in the Peace Summit in Switzerland to jointly develop an action plan for three key points.
He said this in an interview with AFP, the Office of the President writes.
Zelenskyy emphasizes that it is extremely important to unite everyone at the Peace Summit.
"This is about the confidence of their countries, their societies, and who is on whose side. For us, confidence means that those, who did not come to us, are giving a public response. If a representative of your state is absent, it means that when you say "we all want peace," no, you want Russia to win. You are asked to gather and start addressing issues and mapping out the path to peace - the end of the war", the President stressed.
According to Zelenskyy, the points are:
- free navigation – this point involves protecting port infrastructure, ensuring food security for the entire world, and economic development for our country;
- nuclear and energy security – to stop attacks on critical infrastructure;
- exchange of captives and return of illegally deported children.
"If we come out of the Summit with these three steps agreed upon by the majority of countries, it will mean that Russia will not block them further, and we will develop a very detailed step-by-step plan for each of these points with various countries at the technical level," Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained.
Ukraine is ready for dialogue with all states that support its territorial integrity. Therefore, the President and his team are actively working to engage representatives of the Global South in the Summit. Nuclear security is very important for China, food security for Africa and Asia, and prisoner exchange for the Arab world.
"Even if they see the world in a different way, it is important to work on involving them, because they have influence. Any kind: defense – at the level of arms trade, somewhere – economic. They have influence over Russia. And the more such countries are on our side – on the side of ending the war – the more Russia will have to take this into account as well," - Volodymyr Zelenskyy summarized.
