Presidential Office Representative Explains Why Kyiv Is Against China's "Peace Plan"
China's plan is not about peace.
Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Mykhailo Podoliak voiced Ukraine’s arguments against China's "peace plan." According to him, it means a defeat for Ukraine and freezing of the war.
According to him “Chinese peace plan” contains points that contradict each other. China does not seek to end Russia's war against Ukraine in peace. Instead, it may prolong the war and lead to Ukraine's defeat.
"It cannot be called peace if one side has to lose. This is not about peace. At least two points out of 12 contradict each other," Podoliak said during the national TV marathon.
One of these points refers to the inviolability and territorial integrity of the country and its sovereignty. The other one says that there should be an immediate ceasefire.
"This will mean a new line of demarcation and fixing the status quo in of the Russia-controlled territory," Podoliak noted.
According to the Advisor, we need to call a spade a spade. Because, in fact, this will mean Ukraine's loss and Russia's victory, given that it will not stop attacking.
"It will be a frozen war, with constant provocations, with a large number of Russian terrorist actions on our territory, with absolute demoralization of Ukrainians and our partners. In other words, in 3-4 years we will lose our statehood, this is an absolutely impossible scenario," Mykhailo Podoliak stressed.
