During a recent press conference, the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin claimed that Russians are supposedly "defending themselves in Ukraine" and suggested imagining that "the US seized parts of Mexican territory," forcing Mexico to fight to regain its land. He believes that "the West is doing the same in the Russia-Ukraine crisis."

However, according to Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, these statements reflect Putin's fear of NATO and his inability to fight against major powers, as he commented to "24 Channel."

According to Podolyak, the entire press conference was dedicated to urging against providing weapons to Ukraine. The Kremlin has concocted a narrative that "Russia fought against Ukraine for only three days, and is now fighting NATO." Putin claims that Russians are supposedly "defending themselves." However, the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine have nothing to do with Russia.

The Presidential Office’s advisor noted that the Russian dictator can only fight against small countries, and waging war against Ukraine has proven to be significantly more difficult.

"He came to Ukraine, which is much larger and more determined to resist, understanding that we are facing a genocidal-type war. It’s a matter of survival. It turned out that he can't fight with Ukraine," Podolyak  explained.

According to the official, Putin actually asks not to provide Ukraine with weapons because he cannot wage a war when faced with professional military forces, equipped with weapons in parity and long-range tools. The occupying army knows how to and prefers to commit genocide against the civilian population, killing, in particular, women and children.

"Serial killers behave similarly, claiming they have the right to kill members of certain social groups because they believe these groups “hinder humanity's proper development.” Thus, they kill them at night like Jack the Ripper, thinking they are doing “a good deed” for humanity. This is how this person speaks," the Presidential Office’s advisor added.
