Putin Has Not Yet Seriously Pressed Lukashenko into Joining the War - Belarusian Political Analyst
According to him, the Kremlin rewards Minsk economically every month.
Belarusian political scientist Artem Shraybman believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet seriously attempted to press self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko into joining the wat, as Shreibman said in his interview interview with Radio NV.
According to him, "we are not yet at the point to check who will prevail here: Lukashenko with his desire to avoid involvement in the war or Putin with his intent to get him involved in the hostilities".
"I am not sure that it is inevitable. I think that Lukashenko has a certain maneuvering resource. It is just important to understand: we have not yet been at the point when Putin really seriously demanded it. We have not seen the use of the entire Russian toolkit of pressure against Belarus," says Shraybman says.
Moreover, the Belarusian political scientist noted, the reverse process is now taking place: Moscow rewards Minsk economically every month with "some new handouts": "Gas, three-year price; oil is even cheaper than it was before; new loans, installment loans, etc.".
