Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the vote in the US House of Representatives, during which a decision was made on a package of American aid for the Ukrainian state of nearly $61 billion and named the main purpose for which the funds will be spent.
During his traditional Saturday evening address on April 20, he thanked everyone who supported this aid through voting, personally Speaker Mike Johnson, and, according to the President, "all American hearts, who, just like us in Ukraine, feel that Russian evil definitely must not win".
Zelenskyy says that this aid package is very significant and "will be felt by our soldiers on the front lines, and our cities and villages that suffer from Russian terror".
The Ukrainian leader expressed hope that the consideration of the bill in the US Senate and its referral to President Biden would be quick enough.
"We value every expression of support for our state and independence, our people, and our lives, which Russia so desperately wants to bury in ruins. America has shown its leadership from the first days of the war. Such American leadership is vital to maintaining international order based on rules and predictability of life for all peoples. Undoubtedly, we will use the American aid to strengthen both our peoples and bring a fair end to this war - a war that Putin must lose," Zelenskyy said.
The President of Ukraine thanked all representatives of our state, all diplomats working to increase support for Ukraine, all representatives of the civil sector, every volunteer who works, and all friends of Ukraine.
