Russian occupying forces have begun using a new, more deceptive tactic during «Shahed» drone attacks on Ukrainian military facilities. According to analysts, the enemy is exploiting terrain features and relying on manual control to evade detection.
The warning was issued by Serhii Beskrestnov, who goes by the call sign «Flash», an adviser to Ukraine’s defence minister.
He said he had met with relevant commanders and technical specialists a day earlier and urged them to ensure the information was shared across all military units.
According to Beskrestnov, Russian forces are employing a broad range of tactical moves and unconventional approaches to strike Ukrainian military targets. One of the latest threats involves drones flying at ultra-low altitudes under manual control — in some cases just several dozen metres above the ground, as shown in video footage.
«We have technological solutions and we will act, but for now I am asking units to deploy remote visual and acoustic observation posts and to be prepared to engage targets with mobile and fixed cover groups, even if Virazh and other systems are silent, ” Flash said.
He also urged increased vigilance around riverbeds, open terrain and extended low-lying areas, which he said could be exploited by the enemy for concealed approaches.
